UNITED NATIONS, November 2. /TASS/. Russian Permanent Mission to the UN organized a presentation of the "Voenkory" ("Military reporters") documentary movie about the word of military reporters during the special military operation in Ukraine on the UN platform Tuesday.
The event gathered diplomats and foreign reporters. The movie, created by the RT TV channel, shows the daily work of reporters and bloggers in the hostilities area.
Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasiliy Nebenzya underscored the importance of their work, which makes it possible to dispel the "information smoke screen," created by the West.
"Military reporters are an important instrument of transparency in armed conflicts," he said. "Their difficult and dangerous work makes it possible to dispel the information smoke screen, to convey the real situation on the ground to the international community, to draw attention to humanitarian aspects and even make war crimes known to the public."
"In this regard, we consider the attempts of the US and its NATO allies to pressure military reporters, violating their right for the freedom of speech by imposing unilateral personal sanctions, to be completely unacceptable," the diplomat said, adding that truth becomes the first victim in such situations.
"The UN must do everything it can to protect those who defend the truth," he underscored
The movie will reach theaters later this year.
