Russian embassy in Seoul expresses condolences over plane crash in South Korea

According to media reports, 175 passengers (173 South Korean citizens and two Thai nationals) and six crew members were on board the plane

SEOUL, December 29. /TASS/. The Russian embassy in Seoul has expressed its condolences over the Boeing 737-800 airplane crash at Muan International Airport in South Korea.

"We are deeply shocked by the news of the tragic accident with a passenger plane at Muan airport on December 29. We express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to the injured," the statement posted on the embassy’s Telegram channel said.

According to media reports, 175 passengers (173 South Korean citizens and two Thai nationals) and six crew members were on board the plane, which was operated by South Korea's Jeju Air. At least 85 people were killed. Authorities believe that all but two of those rescued may have died.
