KIEV, September 03. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia, Ukraine and the EU will hold trilateral gas talks in the week starting from September 8, Andriy Kobelev, CEO of state-run oil and gas company Naftogaz of Ukraine, told reporters Wednesday.
“The trilateral meeting will take place next week. It is likely to be held in Russia,” Kobelev said.
EU Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger said earlier that he will meet with Ukraine’s Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Prodan in Baku on September 8, while the date of trilateral talks may be set up after that.
In late August, Ukraine agreed to resume trilateral talks suspended in June when the country disagreed with Russia on repayment of a $5.3 billion debt and gas prices. On June 16, Russia’s Gazprom switched Ukraine off gas supplies.
