Russian export watchdog proposes ban on aluminum powder exports to unfriendly countries

MOSCOW, December 26. /TASS/. Russia’s Federal Service for Technical and Export Control has proposed a ban on the export of aluminum powders and mixtures used in ammunition production to unfriendly countries, according to a draft government decree prepared by the service and seen by TASS.

"The draft decree suggests introducing a ban on exports from the Russian Federation to unfriendly countries and territories of aluminum powders, aluminum bronzes, and their mixtures containing more than 88% aluminum by weight, which are in high demand for ammunition production, including artillery and missile systems used by the Ukrainian armed forces and other paramilitary units in the zone of the special military operation," the explanatory note stated.

The draft decree has been approved by the Russian Defense Ministry, the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), the Federal Security Service (FSB), and other relevant federal executive bodies, as well as the Roscosmos state corporation. However, it has not yet been endorsed by the Industry and Trade Ministry or the Economic Development Ministry, the explanatory note added. "Meanwhile, Russia’s Economic Development Ministry expressed readiness to approve the document after it is greenlighted by the subcommittee on customs, tariff, and non-tariff regulation, and protective measures in foreign trade under the governmental commission on foreign economic development and integration," the document noted.
