Moscow expects resumption of flights by Indian airlines to Russia — official

Overall Russia considers India to be a notable partner on strategic projects in the area of international logistics, in exploration of the Northern Sea Route and the North-South corridor in the first place

NEW DELHI, November 12. /TASS/. Moscow expects expansion of direct flight connection with India, as well as resumption of flights by Indian air carriers to the country, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said at a plenary meeting of the intergovernmental commission between the two countries.

"We are interested in expansion of direct flight connection between our countries. Only Russia’s Aeroflot performs flights now as it carries out 12 regular flights per week. We expect an increase in the number of flights, the development of the destination network, as well as resumption of flights by Indian airlines," he said.

Overall Russia considers India to be a notable partner on strategic projects in the area of international logistics, in exploration of the Northern Sea Route and the North-South corridor in the first place. "The launch of new routes, including container, will largely reduce transport costs of economic operators," Manturov said.
