Russian shipping company expanding presence in Southeast Asia

"Today, Ho Chi Minh City has already become a hub for us to consolidate cargos from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other Southeast Asian nations for further delivery to Russia," Andrey Severilov said

HANOI, December 6. /TASS/. FESCO is expanding its presence in the market of container shipments between Russia and Southeast Asian nations, Board Chairman of the Russian shipping company Andrey Severilov told TASS on the floor of the EXPO-RUSSIA VIETNAM 2023 exhibition.

Vietnam is among Russia’s key partners in the Asia-Pacific Region, with bilateral relations being traditionally friendly and resting on many years of experience of close interaction in a wide range of areas, the Board Chairman said. "We are zeroing in on the market of Vietnam. At the same time, we are also proactively developing our presence in other countries of the region. Today, Ho Chi Minh City has already become a hub for us to consolidate cargos from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other Southeast Asian nations for further delivery to Russia," Severilov said.

The FESCO VIETNAM DIRECT LINE (FVDL) scheduled line connecting Vladivostok with Vietnamese ports was launched last year. "Our FVDL maritime service has become a key artery for Russia-Vietnam non-commodity trade in just eighteen months," the senior executive said.

FESCO will target new destinations in Southeast Asia in its immediate plans, Severilov noted. "The Group will increase the number of container services in the region. We see huge prospects for that; we are open to cooperation and we also see the interest and openness of local partners," he added.
