Russia is priority country for Tehran to develop relations — Iran’s ambassador

The diplomat added that Iranian-Russian relations have entered a new phase

ST. PETERSBURG, June 16, /TASS/. Tehran considers the Russian track as a priority one for developing relations, Iranian ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali has said.

"Russia is a priority country for Iran to develop relations with," he said. The diplomat added that Iranian-Russian relations have entered a new phase. "Our top priority is the development of relations with neighboring countries," he said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on Thursday.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum organized by the Roscongress Foundation is running from June 15 to 18. This year’s forum is dubbed: ‘New Opportunities in a New World’. The SME Forum, the Creative Business Forum, the Drug Security Forum, the SPIEF Junior Dialogue and SPIEF Sport Week are also going to be part of the SPIEF event.
