Russia to resolve security issues on its own — diplomat

In particular, Vladimir Yermakov said that the security issues will be resolved by implementing the tasks on the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine set forth by Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as on preventing its absorption by the "hostile NATO bloc"

MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. Russia will do what it needs to do to ensure the country's security by itself as working with other nuclear powers is not feasible at this point, Vladimir Yermakov, director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Department for Non-Proliferation and Arms Control, said in an interview with TASS.

"As a priority, we prefer to consider above all those measures that aim to decrease the confrontation potential between nuclear powers by removing cardinal differences in the security sphere. In the absence of any conditions for such joint efforts, at this stage, we will act unilaterally," the diplomat noted.

In particular, Yermakov said that the security issues will be resolved by implementing the tasks on the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine set forth by Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as on preventing its absorption by the "hostile NATO bloc."
