Aleppo’s airport suspends operation after Israeli airstrike — Russian defense ministry

According to the Russian reconciliation center, four F-16 Israeli tactical fighter jets delivered a missile strike at Aleppo’s Al-Nayrab airport in the night on March 7

MOSCOW, March 7. /TASS/. The operation of the Al-Nayrab international airport in Syria’s Aleppo has been suspended following an Israeli airstrike, humanitarian aid deliveries have been temporarily stopped, Oleg Gurinov, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian defense ministry), said on Tuesday.

"As a result of an airstrike delivered by the Israeli air force, deliveries of humanitarian assistance to the quake-hit areas of the Aleppo governorate will be complicated in the near future. <…> The runway and a radar have been damaged. The airport’s operation has been suspended and the delivery of humanitarian cargoes from foreign countries is not carried out," he said.
