Lukashenko orders 'hardest cleanup' after attack on A-50 aircraft

Earlier, a number of Belarusian and Russian online media, carried reports of damage allegedly caused to the A-50 at the Machulishchi airfield near Minsk

MINSK, March 7. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Tuesday that a few days ago he ordered the "hardest clean-up" throughout the country after the attack on Russia’s A-50 aircraft.

"So that there should be no speculations. Everyone should understand, and I do not deny this, that I issued orders a few days ago to carry out the ‘hardest clean-up’ throughout the country," the BelTA news agency quotes him as saying.

Earlier, a number of Belarusian and Russian online media, carried reports of damage allegedly caused to the A-50 at the Machulishchi airfield near Minsk. The Belarusian Defense Ministry later said that the Russian aircraft remained on duty at the Machulishchi airdrome. The Belarusian television showed footage of the aircraft in working order.

Lukashenko said on Tuesday that a small drone had been used for an act of sabotage against the plane. The reconnaissance aircraft suffered minor damage.
