Russia's Defense Ministry to create concept for National Defense Management Center

Russia’s National Defense Management Center became an important element of the Russian Armed Forces management

MOSCOW, March 18. /TASS/. Russia’s Defense Ministry will create a new development concept for the National Defense Management Center before the end of the year, the Center’s head Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev said.

According to him, a conference summing up the center’s five-year activities will take place in 2019 in three stages, the last of which is scheduled to take place in late September.

"Based on the conference’s outcome, a draft concept for the National Defense Management Center’s future development will be created," Mizintsev said.

He pointed out that the Center had become an important element of the Russian Armed Forces management, accomplishing a number of important tasks. "The continuous development of military administration theory and practice is the demand of our time. We need effective mechanisms to respond to the already existing threats but we also need to look beyond the horizon, foresee and assess all possible turns the situation may take in the coming years," the general pointed out.

Mizintsev also said that the difficult international situation, the growing number of regional conflicts, terrorist and other threats required the development of the country’s military organization. "Today, only modern, strong and mobile armed forces are capable of ensuring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country, protecting it from any potential aggressor, as well as from the pressure and blackmail of those who don’t like the strong and independent Russia," he said.

Russia’s National Defense Management Center was put into operation on December 1, 2014.
