Turkey sees Russia’s approach to ceasefire as ‘humble, but valuable’ — Erdogan

"We have called forth all our diplomatic resources to ensure that our region escapes the maelstrom of instability and conflicts as soon as possible," the Turkish president said

ANKARA, March 24. /TASS/. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that he views Russia’s position on the prospects of the 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine as "humble, but valuable" for the settlement of the conflict.

"We want this war that has entered its fourth year to end in a just peace with no further bloodshed and destruction. We view the positive, be it with reservations, approach of Russia to the proposal by the US for a 30-day ceasefire as a humble, but valuable step toward peace. We have called forth all our diplomatic resources to ensure that our region escapes the maelstrom of instability and conflicts as soon as possible," the president said, following a government session in Ankara. His speech was broadcast live by Turkish TV channels.
