US withdrawal from WHO not to affect Russia — head of office in Russia

Batyr Berdyklychev noted that the WHO office in Russia did not have programs that were funded by the United States

MOSCOW, March 5. /TASS/. The United States' decision to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO) will have no impact on Russia, head of the WHO office in Russia Batyr Berdyklychev told TASS.

"This exit has no direct impact on the Russian Federation, on the functioning of our office, because we do not have programs that would be funded by the United States," he said.

On January 21, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on withdrawing the United States from the WHO, saying the country contributed disproportionately much to the organization compared with other states.
