Ramstein format to meet for first time since Trump's inauguration on February 12

The meeting will be held under the chairmanship of the United Kingdom, not the United States

MOSCOW, February 5. /TASS/. A meeting in the Ramstein format on Ukraine will be held on February 12 for the first time since US President Donald Trump took office, Ukraine's Radio Liberty (recognized in Russia as a foreign media agent and included in the register of undesirable organizations) reported, citing its sources.

"The next meeting in the Ramstein format will be held on February 12 under the chairmanship of the United Kingdom, not the United States," the statement posted on the radio's Telegram channel said.

Meetings in the Ramstein format are traditionally attended by US representatives, usually the Secretary of Defense. Thus, this meeting could be the first ministerial-level contacts between the United States and Kiev under Trump. The meeting has not yet been officially confirmed.

On February 12, a meeting of the foreign ministers of the EU and Ukraine will be held in Brussels. The participation of a representative of the United States has not yet been confirmed. On February 14-16, the leaders, foreign and defense ministers of NATO countries and allies will gather in Brussels for the Munich Security Conference.
