Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps chief vows revenge for Israeli attack

According to Lieutenant General Hossein Salami, "the most advanced armies of the world" back Iran in its confrontation with Israel

DUBAI, November 14. /TASS/. Tehran will undoubtedly avenge Israel for its October attack, Lieutenant General Hossein Salami, commander-in-chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), asserted.

"We will have our revenge. You will face painful strikes. Keep waiting," the IRGC press service quoted the general as saying. According to Salami, "the most advanced armies of the world" back Iran in its confrontation with Israel.

The military commander described Iran’s conflict with a pro-Israel coalition as "a confrontation with the powers that seek to dominate" Tehran "to their will, manipulate the lives of Muslims, occupy their lands, and erase their religious identity." "We will go head-to-head with you, fighting to the end, and we will not let you control the destiny of Muslims," he added.

On October 1, Iran launched a massive ballistic and hypersonic missile strike against Israel in retaliation for the killing of senior officials from the Palestinian movement Hamas, the Lebanon-based Shia movement Hezbollah, and the IRGC. Israel vowed to retaliate.

On October 26, the Israeli army announced airstrikes on military facilities in Iran in response to "ongoing attacks." According to the Iranian Air Defense Force, military sites in the provinces of Ilam, Tehran, and Khuzestan were targeted, though only limited damage was reported. The Israeli attack killed at least four Iranian service members and a civilian.
