Problems in Armenian-Russian relations cannot be concealed — top Armenian diplomat

Armenia expects that commitments with Russia will be fulfilled

BUENOS AIRES, March 31. /TASS/. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has admitted that his country’s relations with Moscow have problems which cannot be concealed.

"We have economic relations, bilateral trade, various areas of cooperation [with Russia], and we maintain good ties in the sphere of security. But it is also true that today we think differently, or, in other words, we don’t speak the same language. Problems in relations with Russia cannot be concealed," he said in an interview with the Todos Noticias news portal.

"I cannot anticipate future but I know that Armenia has fair expectations that the two countries’ commitments concerning territorial integrity be committed to paper. We expect that the agreement will be ratified and want these Armenia and Russia’s commitments be fulfilled," he said when asked about potential severance of diplomatic relations.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said earlier that Russia is concerned over an Armenia-EU-US meeting scheduled for April 5 because Washington and Brussels openly declare its anti-Russian nature.
