CAIRO, March 31. /TASS/. Palestine’s new government led by Mohammad Mustafa has been sworn into office, the WAFA agency said.

The ceremony was held in Ramallah, the administrative center of the Palestine National Authority in the presence of President Mahmoud Abbas, who stressed that the new technocratic government’s jurisdiction will cover the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip. Among its priority tasks he cited humanitarian deliveries to Gaza, support for displaced persons in their striving to return to their homes, and the enclave’s revival.

Earlier, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas appointed Mohammad Mustafa, former Chairman of the Palestine Investment Fund (PIF), as the Prime Minister of Palestine. Former Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh announced the resignation of his government on February 26. On March 28, Abbas approved the Mustafa government.
