Kiev may lose more territories if US does not approve new aid package — media

According to military analyst George Barros, "if Ukraine doesn't get a resupply of weaponry, it will ultimately concede territory"

NEW YORK, March 27. /TASS/. Ukraine may lose even more territories and experienced troops due to the US inability to approve a new aid package, Business Insider reported, citing experts.

"Without the US passing [to Ukraine] the aid supplemental, it's very difficult to see how the Ukrainians can avoid continuing to lose ground - potentially catastrophically - when it comes to the Russian major offensive in the summer, which will come," Justin Bronk, an airpower expert at the Royal United Services Institute think tank, said. According to military analyst George Barros, "if Ukraine doesn't get a resupply of weaponry, it will ultimately concede territory."

The news outlet also pointed to Russia's artillery superiority. While the Ukrainian armed forces continue to "expend precious air-defense resources," as the US has not approved the new package, "Kiev may end up losing more ground and experienced troops," Business Insider said.

On February 13, the US Senate, the upper chamber of the US Congress, passed a new bill with Republican support that provides for the allocation of 95 billion dollars to aid Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. However, this bill does not include provisions to strengthen control measures on the southern border of the US. The House of Representatives has not yet voted on the bill.
