TEHRAN, March 13. /TASS/. The recent developments in Ukraine were among the topics discussed by Russian and Iranian Foreign Ministers, Sergey Lavrov and Hossein Amirabdollahian, over the phone on Monday, the Iranian foreign ministry said.

"The recent developments in Ukraine were among the topics discussed by the [Iranian and Russian] foreign ministers," it said adding that the Iranian top diplomat stressed Iran’s "principled position" on the necessity to focus on a political solution and dialogue.

According to the Iranian foreign ministry, the ministers also discussed issues "linked with the technical cooperation" between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Apart from that, Lavrov hailed the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia on the resumption diplomatic relations.
