Sputnik V vaccine account on Twitter blocked for unknown reasons: Direct Investment Fund

The account owners asked all their followers to contact Twitter and ask the company to restore access to the account

MOSCOW, January 14/TASS/. The account of the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V on Twitter has been blocked for yet unknown reasons, a representative of the Russian Direct Investment Fund told journalists on Thursday.

"The account of Sputnik V (on Twitter - TASS) was blocked. We are looking into the reasons behind this," he said.

The account owners asked all their followers to contact Twitter and ask the company to restore access to the account.

"Via Twitter, we have been openly sharing all information about the vaccine and about how it works. Via Twitter, we offered AstraZeneca to use one of the components of the Sputnik V vaccine and agreed to conduct joint clinical trials," the Direct Investment Fund said.

Russia on August 11 was the first country in the world to have registered a vaccine against the coronavirus, called Sputnik V, produced by the Gamaleya National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology.
