LUGANSK, March 10. /TASS/. Over the past week, Russian troops eliminated almost 4,800 Ukrainian soldiers and foreign mercenaries on the battlefront in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS.
In the week of February 22, Kiev lost 4,510 soldiers and mercenaries, Marochko told TASS on March 3.
"An analysis of the course of the special military operation on the battlefield in the LPR in the past week shows that <…> Ukraine’s armed formations sustained more than 4,780 casualties, including Ukrainian soldiers and [foreign] mercenaries, from actions of [Russia’s] battlegroups North, South, and West, an increase of 270 from the previous week," the expert said, citing data from the Russian Defense Ministry.
According to Marochko, enemy troops suffered the heaviest losses from actions of the Battlegroup South.
Also, in the past week, Russian forces destroyed nine tanks, 77 field guns, 16 electronic warfare and counterbattery systems, 22 field ammo depots, and over 240 combat vehicles belonging to the enemy, he added.
