Russia's top security official meets Malaysian defense minister in Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR, February 27. /TASS/. Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu held talks with Malaysian Defense Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin as part of his official visit to Kuala Lumpur, a TASS correspondent reported.

The discussions took place in the offices of the Malaysian Defense Ministry, where the parties addressed issues of global and regional security as well as military cooperation.

The Russian delegation was also represented by Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin, Russian Ambassador to Malaysia Naiyl Latypov, and Mikhail Petukhov, the deputy director of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation.

Earlier, it was reported that Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu arrived in Kuala Lumpur for an official visit. During the trip, he has already held talks with Director General of the National Security Council of Malaysia Nushirwan Zainal Abidin and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
