CSTO Council to convene ahead of Russia-Azerbaijan-Armenia summit — Kremlin

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov added that Armenia holds the rotating presidency in the post-Soviet security bloc this year

MOSCOW, October 27. /TASS/. The Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will convene in the run-up to the trilateral summit of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday.

In his words, the meeting will be held "as part of preparations for the upcoming summit," bringing together Russian President Vladimir Putin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilkham Aliyev.

The spokesman added that Armenia holds the rotating presidency in the post-Soviet security bloc this year.

Earlier, Peskov announced that Putin would participate in an emergency session of the CSTO Collective Security Council on Friday.

Prior to that, the prime minister of Armenia told reporters that he planned to attend a trilateral meeting with the leaders of Russia and Azerbaijan in Russia’s Black Sea resort city of Sochi on October 31.
