Two people die in gas explosion at residential house in Russia's Urals

Ten other people were rescued from under debris after an entrance hall collapsed in an apartment building after the gas explosion

MOSCOW, December 31. /TASS/. Two people died after an entrance hall collapsed in an apartment building in the Russian Urals city of Magnitogorsk, while 10 more people were rescued from under the debris, the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told TASS on Monday.

"Rescuers rescued 10 people from under the debris, all of them alive. Two more people died," the press service said.

The press service added that 16 people have been evacuated from the building. Mobile accommodations have been set up for evacuated residets.

According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, an entrance hall collapsed in the apartment building at 164 Karl Marx Avenue in Magnitogorsk at 4am Moscow time after a gas explosion.

Emergencies services are working at the scene.
