Russia to establish joint production of electron accelerators with Vietnam

It is highlighted that Russia’s state corporation has all the necessary expertise in production of electron accelerators and has extensive experience in supplying them to foreign markets

HANOI, April 7. /TASS/. Russia intends to establish joint production of electron accelerators for the industrial and healthcare sectors with Vietnam, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said at a meeting with the management of Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM) on Friday.

"Together with Rosatom we will foster efforts to establish joint production of electron accelerators in Vietnam for industry and healthcare," he said.

Russia’s state corporation has all the necessary expertise in production of electron accelerators and has extensive experience in supplying them to foreign markets, the Deputy PM added.

Moscow is also considering VINATOM as a partner to expand cooperation as part of the project to build an International Research Center (IRC) that has a Multipurpose Fast Neutron Research Reactor (MBIR) in the city of Dimitrovgrad, he noted. "I have been told that VINATOM scientists are already participating in the work of the advisory board. We expect the Vietnamese side to become a full-fledged member of the IRC MBIR consortium shortly. This will strongly encourage the development of nuclear science in Vietnam," Chernyshenko stressed.
