Russia, Saudi Arabia agree to keep coordinating steps as part of OPEC+, Lavrov says

Russia’s top diplomat also said that, at the talks, the Russian and Saudi sides agreed to "take additional steps to increase the trade turnover in future"

MOSCOW, March 9. /TASS/. Russia and Saudi Arabia agreed to continue coordinating steps as part of OPEC+, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a news conference following talks with his Saudi counterpart Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud on Thursday.

We "reaffirmed mutual commitment to further coordinating moves as part of OPEC+. All the countries participating in the format have been consistent in fulfilling their commitments with a view to ensuring the necessary balance and stability on the global energy market," Lavrov said.

Russia’s top diplomat also said that, at the talks, the Russian and Saudi sides agreed to "take additional steps to increase the trade turnover in future." Specifically, Lavrov said, the topic will be discussed at a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation to be held in Moscow later this year.
