Russia to earmark over $454 mln for software import substitution

According to Dmitry Chernyshenko, the ministry will report to the government on the status of the projects monthly, and the first results of the work are anticipated as early as next year

MOSCOW, November. /TASS/. The Russian authorities will use over 28 bln rubles ($454.35 mln) by the end of 2022 for software import substitution, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said on Monday.

"By the end of the year, all decisions (on import substitution of software - TASS) that we supported will also be given budget funding. The Ministry of Digital Development has provided more than 28 bln rubles for the implementation of projects," Chernyshenko said.

According to him, the ministry will report to the government on the status of the projects monthly, and the first results of the work are anticipated as early as next year.

Chernyshenko stressed that the government would actively promote domestic vendors' competitive products on international markets. According to him, "a digital attache service has been developed to market domestic IT solutions abroad in friendly countries."
