Putin, Kurz discuss fight against coronavirus, situation in Belarus, Ukraine, Kremlin says

The Russian side stressed the inadmissibility of external interference in the domestic affairs of Belarus

MOSCOW, April 30. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz have discussed issues of fight against the coronavirus infection, as well as the situation in Ukraine and Belarus in a phone conversation, the Kremlin press service reported on Friday.

In the conversation, initiated by Vienna, "some pressing issues of Russian-Austrian relations were reviewed, including the interaction in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus infection as well as prospects of intensifying work of various mechanisms of bilateral cooperation."

"Per Sebastian Kurz’s request, Vladimir Putin explained Russia’s approaches to settlement of the internal Ukrainian crisis with the emphasis on the necessity for Ukrainian authorities to completely and unconditionally implement the Minsk agreements," the Kremlin press service added. "When the situation around Belarus was discussed, the Russian side stressed the inadmissibility of external interference in the domestic affairs of that country," the press service emphasized.

The issue of convicted blogger Alexey Navalny was also touched upon in the conversation.
