Hainan increases the number of flights to Phnom Penh

There will be five flights a week from now on

HAIKOU, January 1. /TASS/. China's Haikou and Cambodia's Phnom Penh increase the intensity of air traffic. According to www.hinews.cn, on December 30, an airplane flew to Phnom Penh from Meilan International Airport, which kickstarted the launch of a new flight — HU449.

The new flight is operated jointly by Hainan United Airlines Travel Group and Hainan Airlines. The return flight to Haikou is carried out on the same day (HU450). Flights operated by these companies will be carried out three times a week.

Thus, the total number of flights along the Haikou-Phnom Penh route increased to five per week, which, according to the news outlet, will further promote cooperation between the countries in tourism, economy, trade and culture. The remaining flights operator is Cambodia Angkor Airlines. On December 25, the Hainan United Airlines Travel Group also launched a new Haikou - Bangkok flight.

Currently, Meilan International Airport serves 48 international and regional flights that operate in 35 cities in 20 countries.

The year 2019 was declared the Year of China-Cambodia Cooperation in Tourism and Culture.
