MOSCOW, October 27. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Defense Minister Vasily Osmakov met with Minister-Delegate (Deputy Minister) of the Malian Ministry of Defense Omar Diarra to discuss prospects for military cooperation between the two countries, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"As part of preparations for main events of the third Russia-Africa summit, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Vasily Osmakov held a working meeting with Minister-Delegate at the Malian Ministry of Defense General Omar Diarra. During the talks, the sides discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation in the defense sector and prospects for further interaction," it said.

The meeting was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and demonstrated the friendly character of Russian-Malian relations, it added.
