MOSCOW, June 28 (Itar-Tass) — A Jet Su-27 belonging to the Russian Air Force crashed in the area of Besovetst aerodrome in Karelia when making a landing approach, spokesman for the Russian Air Force Colonel Vladimir Drik told Itar-Tass. The jet performed a regular weather monitoring flight, he said.
The crew numbering two ejected and reported the incident after both pilots touched down. Neither damage nor casualties have been reported in a forest near the jet crash site, the spokesman said.
The jet was in the air with no weapons on board, the spokesman specified.
