UNITED NATIONS, March 24. /TASS/. The United Nations is against the killing and wounding of journalists and wants all such cases to be thoroughly investigated, Farhan Haq, deputy spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, said
"We are against the killing and wounding of journalists and want them to be thoroughly investigated," he said in response to a TASS request to comment on the wounding of TASS correspondent Mikhail Skuratov in the Kursk Region, as well as the deaths of Andrey Panov, a cameraman of Zvezda TV, and Alexander Sirkeli, the driver of the channel's crew.
Earlier, it was reported that Panov and Sirkeli were killed in a shelling in the Lugansk People's Republic by the Ukrainian army, along with Izvestiya correspondent Alexander Fedorchak.
Meanwhile, TASS correspondent Mikhail Skuratov sustained shrapnel wounds while carrying out an editorial assignment in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk Region.
The Russian UN permanent mission announced that Russia would raise the issue of injuries and deaths of Russian journalists at the next UN Security Council meeting on the Ukrainian conflict.
