SHANGHAI, March 19. /TASS/. Any cooperation between Russia and the United States against China is unfeasible, as Moscow and Beijing have built strong trusting relations, said Zhang Weiwei, the director of China Institute at Fudan University.
"China, Russia have a very mature and sophisticated and mutual trust type of relations, which is very solid. And I'm not worried at all about whatever the western media is talking about a collusion between United States and Russia against China. No. That is impossible," he commented on Trump’s words that Washington does not want Moscow and Beijing become closer, but hopes to improve relations with them.
"We have the enough trust in our Russian friends, same with Russian friends in China," he added.
Zhang called Russia and China "civilization states."
"A typical feature of civilization states are countries and nations with deep people and deep culture, which is very different from a country like the United States, which has lost a lot of credibility," he added.
Zhang noted good progress in Russia’s strive "to change the unipolarity into multipolarity" in international relations. " I think China and Russia can play very important role in this new multipolar world. And furthermore, we should try to work together to build in you and very good or kind of multipolar world order," he said.
The expert called Tuesday’s conversation between the leaders of Russia and the United States a positive sign for a peaceful solution of the Ukrainian crisis.
This conflict had never happened "if NATO were not engaging in its five eastward expansions, if the West did not push for the color revolutions."
The Presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, held a telephone conversation on March 18 to discuss a 30-day ceasefire, conditions for preventing escalation, and some international topics. The Russian leader agreed with the White House proposal on mutual refusal of the parties to the conflict in Ukraine from attacks on energy infrastructure.
