NEW YORK, March 19. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump said he did not discuss West’s military assistance to the Kiev government during his latest phone conversation with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
"We didn't talk about aid. Actually, we didn't talk about aid at all. We talked about a lot of things, but aid was never discussed," Trump said.
Putin and Trump earlier held a conversation, in which they discussed the issue of a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, the conditions for preventing escalation, and a number of international issues. The Russian president supported the US leader’s proposal that Russia and Ukraine refrain from strikes on energy facilities.
The sides also agreed to launch "technical negotiations on implementation of a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea, full ceasefire and permanent peace," the White House said in a statement. The Kremlin siad that "the key condition for preventing the escalation of the conflict and working on its redirection to a political and diplomatic settlement must be a complete halt to foreign military assistance and the provision of intelligence to Kiev.".
