US does not want closer Russia-China ties, but seeks better relations with both — Trump

The US President also noted that America is very different from the country it was a few months ago

NEW YORK, March 19. /TASS/. The United States does not want relations between Russia and China to get closer, but hopes to improve bilateral ties with both countries, US President Donald Trump told Fox News in an interview.

"I don't want Russia and China to get together," the US leader said, adding that "we're looking to get along" with both countries.

"I think that President Xi would like to get along, and I think Russia wants to get along with the United States. I also think we're a much different country than we were just a few months ago. We're a country that's now respected. We were not respected. We were being laughed at. We had incompetent leadership," Trump said, speaking about his predecessor Joe Biden.
