Trump leads way towards peace — US secretary of state on Russia-US talks

Putin and Trump held a phone conversation on March 18, in which they discussed the 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine

WASHINGTON, March 19. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump is leading the way towards peace, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, commenting on the latest phone conversation between Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

"Once again, Trump is leading the way towards peace," Rubio wrote on X, commenting Trump’s statement about his conversation with Putin.

Putin and Trump held a phone conversation on March 18, in which they discussed the 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, the conditions for preventing escalation, and a number of international issues. The Russian president supported the US leader’s proposal that Russia and Ukraine refrain from strikes on energy facilities.
