WASHINGTON, November 13. /TASS/. US President Joe Biden, who spoke on Sunday at the East Asia Summit in Phnom Penh, touched on his country's confrontation with China as well as security issues in the context of the situation with Taiwan and Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, the White House press service reported.

"President Biden <...> commented on US-PRC (US-China - TASS) relations, underscoring that the United States will compete vigorously with the PRC and speak out regarding the PRC’s human rights abuses, while keeping lines of communication open and ensuring competition does not veer into conflict. He reaffirmed the importance of maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait," the statement said.

According to the White House, the US leader also condemned "threats posed by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea" and Russia's actions in Ukraine. He also expressed concern about the "deteriorating crisis" in Myanmar, calling on the country's military authorities to release political prisoners.

The US leader also reiterated "his commitment to working with allies and partners to strengthen health systems, promote food security, address climate change, and accelerate the clean energy transition".
