MOSCOW, January 1. /TASS/. The Ukrainian army lost up to 1,050 troops in all areas of Russia’s special military operation in the past day, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s bulletin.
In particular, Kiev lost up to 45 troops in the zone of responsibility of Russia’s Battlegroup North in the Kharkov area, up to 330 troops in the area of responsibility of Battlegroup West, over 250 service members in the area of responsibility of Battlegroup South, up to 235 troops in the area of responsibility of Battlegroup Center, more than 150 servicemen in the area of responsibility of Battlegroup East and up to 40 troops in the area of responsibility of Battlegroup Dnepr.
Russian air defenses downed seven HIMARS and Uragan rockets and 66 Ukrainian drones in the past day, the ministry said in a statement.
"Air defenses shot down seven Uragan and US-made HIMARS rockets, as well as 66 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles," the statement reads.
According to the ministry, a total of 650 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 39,047 unmanned aerial vehicles, 590 missile systems, 20,127 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,504 multiple rocket launchers, and 20,120 field artillery mounts and mortars, as well as 29,684 special military motor vehicles, have been destroyed since the start of Russia’s special military operation.
Battlegroup West
Ukraine lost up to 330 troops, a tank and four artillery pieces in the area of responsibility of Russia’s Battlegroup West in the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
"Units of Battlegroup West improved their frontline position, hitting enemy troops and equipment near Dvurechnaya, Ivanovka and Kovsharovka in the Kharkov Region, Torskoye and Terny in the Donetsk People’s Republic. They also repelled nine counterattacks by Ukrainian assault teams. The enemy lost up to 330 troops," the statement reads.
The Ukrainian army also lost a tank, three pickup trucks, a French-made Caesar 155 mm howitzer, a Gvozdika 122 mm howitzer, a US-made M119 105 mm howitzer and a British-made L119 gun. A Nota electronic warfare system and an ammunition depot were also destroyed.
Battlegroup East
Russia’s Battlegroup East continued to move deeper into enemy defenses in the past day, making Ukraine lose over 150 troops, the ministry said in a statement.
"Units of Battlegroup East continued to move deeper into enemy defenses, defeating the forces of a Ukrainian tank brigade, two mechanized brigades and two territorial defense brigades near Razliv, Bogatyr, Neskuchnoye, Velikaya Novosyolka and Zelyonoye Pole in the Donetsk People’s Republic. They also repealed three counterattacks by enemy assault teams. The Ukrainian army lost over 150 troops," the statement reads.
The enemy also lost an infantry fighting vehicle, four motor vehicles, a US-made Paladin 155 mm self-propelled howitzer, a Bogdana 155 mm howitzer, a D-30 122 mm howitzer and a British-made L119 105 mm gun.
Battlegroups North, Dnepr
Russia’s battlegroups North and Dnepr made the Ukrainian armed forces lose up to 85 troops in the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
"Units of Battlegroup North active in the Kharkov area defeated the forces of a Ukrainian motorized infantry brigade and two territorial defense brigades near Malye Prokhody, Siminovka and Volchansk in the Kharkov Region. The Ukrainian army lost up to 45 troops, a motor vehicle and a D-20 152 mm howitzer," the statement reads.
According to the ministry, units of Battlegroup Dnepr hit the troops and equipment of a Ukrainian infantry brigade and two territorial defense brigades near Stepnogorsk in the Zaporozhye Region, Pridneprovskoye, Berislav and Kherson in the Kherson Region. The Ukrainian army lost up to 40 troops, six motor vehicles and a D-20 152 mm howitzer.
Battlegroup Center
Russia’s Battlegroup Center caused Ukraine to lose up to 235 troops, two tanks and four artillery pieces in the past day, the ministry said in a statement.
"Units of Battlegroup Center improved their tactical position, hitting Ukrainian troops and equipment near Dzerzhinsk, Shcherbinovka, Alexandropol, Shevchenko, Dachenskoye, Slavyanka, Baranovka, Ulyanovka and Peschanoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic. They also repelled 14 counterattacks by Ukrainian units. The enemy lost up to 235 troops," the statement reads.
The enemy also lost two tanks, a British-made Spartan armored personnel carrier, a US-made M113 armored personnel carrier, an infantry fighting vehicle, three motor vehicles, a French-made 155 mm self-propelled howitzer, two Msta-B 152 mm howitzers and a D-20 152 mm howitzer.
Russian forces hit Ukrainian defense industry’s energy facility
Russian forces have struck an energy facility supplying power to a Ukrainian defense company and a production site of unmanned boats, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
"Russia’s tactical aircraft, attack drones, missile forces and artillery units struck an energy facility supplying power to a Ukrainian defense company, infrastructure facilities at military airfields, a production site of unmanned boats and enemy troops and equipment in 142 areas," the statement reads.
Russian forces destroy three Ukrainian unmanned boats
Russia’s Black Sea Fleet destroyed three unmanned boats in the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
"The Black Sea Fleet forces destroyed three unmanned boats," the statement reads.
