Russian president clearly presents vision of Russia as multipolar world — Italian expert

Tiberio Graziani pointed out that representatives of the European leadership allowed showing "an attitude of moral superiority and even rudeness" towards the Russian president

ROME, June 17. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has presented a fairer model of the world order based on multilateralism, Tiberio Graziani, the chairman of the International Institute for Global Analysis Vision & Global Trends, told TASS on Friday.

Commenting on the speech delivered by the Russian leader at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on Friday, the political scientist said, "Putin’s speech was, as always, clear and concise. He depicted from the Russian point of view the development and changes of the world order that is transitioning from the US-led unipolar model to a multipolar one, which is more balanced and notable for the aspiration to have a dialogue of cultures."

Graziani pointed out that representatives of the European leadership allowed showing "an attitude of moral superiority and even rudeness" towards the Russian president.

"Instead, the sense of responsibility should have prompted words and statements leading to resolution of the crisis, rather than its exacerbation," the expert told the news agency.

The political scientist foresaw a spike in social tensions as "anti-Russian sanctions have extremely negative repercussions for the European economy," and "the first signals, although not yet very obvious, are already felt in public opinion," the expert believes.
