US connects biolabs in different countries to unified control system — Defense Ministry

According to chief of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces of the Russian Armed Forces Igor Kirillov, the work is carried out in three areas

MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. The United States sets up biological laboratories in different countries under the same scenario and connects them to a unified biological control system, Igor Kirillov, the chief of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, said on Wednesday.

"Along with this, we trace a certain system in the deployment of US biological laboratories beyond its national territory. First, there emerges concern about the regional biological situation. Then the motivation is ensured, including the material motivation of officials, primarily, from health ministries, in cooperation. Finally, a biological facility is erected and connected to the unified system of global control over the biological situation," Kirillov said at a UN Security Council Arria Formula meeting.

According to Kirillov, the work is carried out in three areas. First, the biological situation is monitored "in the supposed areas of the deployment of NATO member states’ military contingents." Second, the strains of dangerous microorganisms are collected and transported to the US. Third, the potential agents of biological weapons are studied. Moreover, those agents are studied which are typical of the region, have natural foci and can be transmitted to humans.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the Pentagon has control over 336 laboratories in 30 countries beyond national jurisdiction. In the areas near the borders of Russia and China, about 60 facilities have been upgraded since 2005, using the funds of the US Department of Defense.
