MOSCOW, June 1. /TASS/. The arrivals of refugees from Ukraine and the two Donbass republics in Russia have neared 1.6 million, a law enforcement source told TASS on Wednesday.
"According to the latest reports, the number of refugees has neared 1.6 million people, including 260,000 children," the source said, adding that most people arrived from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
More than 33,000 people, including 11,000 children, are staying at 66 temporary accommodation centers in Russia. A total of 2.736 billion rubles ($43.455 million) has been paid to those among refugees who have applied for a one-off payment upon their arrival in Russia.
