Ukrainian troops don’t have Western equipment in south Donetsk area — captured soldier

Alexander Tarasyuk said Ukrainian troops use mostly Soviet-era equipment in the south Donetsk area

DONETSK, October 25. /TASS/. Ukrainian troops aren’t using West-provided armored vehicles in the battles in the South Donetsk area, as they have been deployed to the Zaporozhye Region, said Alexander Tarasyuk, a serviceman of the Ukrainian 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, who was captured in the south Donetsk area.

"Zaporozhye is a more interesting area. All foreign armored vehicles go there. In our [south Donetsk] area, I have not seen them at all, neither wheeled nor tracked ones," the soldier said as he spoke with a TASS reporter and servicemen of the battlegroup East.

He said Ukrainian troops use mostly Soviet-era equipment in the south Donetsk area.

Tarasyuk voluntarily surrendered to Russian troops in the south Donetsk area when Ukrainian positions came under attack.
