Trade potential between Russia, Algeria estimated at $9 bln

Preparations are currently underway for the meeting of the Russian-Algerian intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation that will be held in late January 2025, Pavel Kalmychek noted

MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. Analysts of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development estimated the unrealized trade potential between Russia and Algeria at $9 bln, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said on its website.

"In 2023, the trade turnover between Russia and Algeria increased almost twofold and totaled $3.7 bln. Analysts of the ministry estimated the unrealized trade potential of the two countries at $9 bln more at the same time. This is the analysis enabling us to look optimistically into the future," department director of the Ministry of Economic Development Pavel Kalmychek said, cited in the statement.

Preparations are currently underway for the meeting of the Russian-Algerian intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation that will be held in late January 2025, he added.
