Sixteen think tanks from seven countries took part in the conference

SANYA, September 26. /TASS/. The Alliance of Hainan Free Trade Port and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) think tanks have held their second working conference on investment cooperation. This was reported by the Hainan Daily newspaper.

The conference was attended by 16 think tanks from seven countries. According to Chi Fulin, Director of the China Institute of Reform and Development (Hainan), the alliance should help strengthen investment and economic ties between the business circles of China and ASEAN. He also proposed to organize special training and workshops for representatives of small and medium-sized businesses where they can get information on cooperation opportunities and preferential policies of the province of Hainan.

Conference participants also put forward an initiative to deepen contacts between entrepreneurs and representatives of government departments and regulators in charge of foreign economic activity.

The Hainan Free Trade Port and ASEAN Alliance of Think Tanks was established in April this year. It included 17 think tanks from nine countries, including Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The first working conference was held in May of this year.
