Hainan promotes its tourism potential at ITB fair in Berlin

The Hainan companies established contacts with potential foreign partners

HAIKOU, March 16. /TASS/. China's Hainan paraded its tourism potential at the ITB in Berlin, one of the world's leading travel exhibitions, which took place on March 9-12 via videoconference and attracted several thousand businesses from more than 120 countries, reported www.hinews.cn.

Participants of the exhibition had the opportunity to watch a demonstration video about Hainan's tourism opportunities, as well as the successes achieved in building a free trade port with Chinese characteristics on the island. Foreign participants also got acquainted with the policy of the province to create favorable conditions for investors.

During the event, the Hainan companies established contacts with potential foreign partners. In particular, some agreements were reached by Haiken Group with six foreign travel agencies, and Hainan Kangtai Travel presented tourist routes in the province, designed specifically for the Europeans.

The European market, the resource writes, has always been an important supplier of tourists to Hainan province, which by 2025 should become a major "international center for tourism and consumption." The Chinese island is often referred to as "Eastern Hawaii": natural landscapes, tropical forests, a developed hotel chain combined with beaches and a coastline stretching along more than 1,900 kilometers attract guests from the most remote parts of the world.

During the 13th five-year plan (2016-2020), Hainan received about 352 million Chinese and foreign tourists.
