BERLIN, May 2. /TASS/. Germany and Slovakia think that the European Commission should consider long-term agencies which would maintain Ukraine as a gas transit country in the European Union’s energy grid, Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Wednesday at a joint news conference with Slovakia’s Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini.
"We were united in the opinion that we need sensible long-term structures which would stipulate that Ukraine is kept as a gas transit country in the portfolio of gas supplies to Europe," she said.
