Ukraine, West need to understand time has come for talks — Belarusian president

Alexander Lukashenko added that it is "a good moment for Ukraine and Ukraine’s sponsors to make a decision"

MINSK, April 12. /TASS/. The time has come for the Ukrainians and their Western sponsors to come to the negotiating table with Russia, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.

"I think it’s high time for the Ukrainians and the West to come to the negotiating table and make a final agreement," he said, as cited by the BelTA news agency.

"It’s a good moment for Ukraine and Ukraine’s sponsors to make a decision. A decision needs to be made. I do understand the Russian president; what he’s doing is like a touchstone: if you want talks, you’re welcome; we are open to making agreements," Lukashenko added, commenting on the possibility of resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
