BRUSSELS, October 26. /TASS/. The conflict between Israel and the Palestinian radical movement Hamas will be the focus of the two-day summit of the EU heads of state and government.
According to a high-ranking EU official, the leaders will discuss ways of preventing the conflict’s further escalation, resuming the political process and improving the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
However, according to President of the European Council Charles Michel, the EU countries will not ignore thee topic of Ukraine, which will also be high on the agenda. The EU leaders will discuss military and financial support for Kiev, the so-called peace formula proposed by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, as well as the use of the frozen Russian assets for Ukraine’s restoration.
Other topics will include the conflicts between Belgrade and Kosovo, as well as between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the situation in Africa, especially in Sahel, and European economic issues, including talks on the adjustment of the EU budget for 2023-2027.
