Indian defense minister warns parties to Ukrainian conflict against using nuclear weapons

NEW DELHI, October 26. /TASS/. Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh warned the parties to the Ukrainian conflict against using nuclear weapons in a phone call with his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoigu on Wednesday, as Singh himself wrote on Twitter.

According to the Indian defense chief, Shoigu briefed him "on the evolving situation in Ukraine, including his concerns about possible provocations through the use of a ‘dirty bomb’."

Singh added that he "pointed out that the nuclear option should not be resorted to by any side as the prospect of the usage of nuclear or radiological weapons goes against the basic tenets of humanity."

The Russian Defense Ministry said earlier that Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu had held a telephone conversation with his Indian counterpart, expressing his concerns about Ukraine potentially using a "dirty bomb" to carry out a false flag operation.

On Monday, Chief of Russia’s Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops Lieutenant-General Igor Kirillov told a news briefing that the Defense Ministry had put its forces and resources in a state of readiness for action "in a situation of radioactive contamination" based on intel about Kiev’s plot for using a "dirty" nuclear bomb.
