MOSCOW, April 16. /TASS/. Oksana Marchenko, the spouse of Viktor Medvedchuk, a leader of the Opposition Platform - For Life party detained in Ukraine, has asked British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in a video-address on Saturday to swap her husband in exchange of detained British troops.
"I appeal to their relatives and friends of Aiden Aislin and Sean Pinner… It’s in your power to ask the prime minister of your country, Boris Johnson…, and to achieve the release of Aiden and Sean on the Ukrainian opposition detained by…," Marchenko said in her video address posted on a social website on Saturday.
Marchenko earlier asked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to help free her husband.
On Tuesday, Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelensky said that Medvedchuk had been detained and showed photos of a handcuffed man looking like the politician. Zelensky proposed to exchange Medvedchuk for Ukrainian prisoners of war.
